SKL Principal Investigators Symposium
On Nov 30 2022, the Principal Investigators (PIs) of State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences had an internal symposium. In this Symposium, PIs from different disciplines and faculties engage and share ideas on some of the most important questions in our fields. The symposium has showcased the unique strengths of our SKL and our niche in HK, nationally and internationally. This Symposium would sparkle new research ideas and provide an opportunity for future collaboration within our SKL.

Covid and The Young Brain Research
The Department of Paedeatrics and Adolescent Medicine is collaborating with State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Department of Childhood Education, EdUHK and Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology, CUHK to conduct a cohort study to examine children’s and adolescents’ brain development and function.

A research team led by Professor Tatia Lee, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences of The University of Hong Kong (HKU), in collaboration with Professor Lin Chen of Chinese Academy of Sciences, conducted studies to explain the neural mechanisms of the pons-corticolimbic network in perpetuating sad mood in depression. The study findings were published in Communications Biology.
